• Death of Australian trekker in Nepal due to high altitude sickness

    In an untoward incident, an Australian trekker died at a hotel near Pasanglhamu rural municipality-4 of Khumbu region in Nepal due to high altitude sickness, Bernama News reported citing police.
    “We came to know about the incident only yesterday , and a police team rushed immediately to the place where he died,” Police Inspector Uttam Karki said.
    Philip Markart Garz, 31, passed away at the base camp of the peak, at around 1:00 p.m. local time on Monday, when he was taking a rest at the hotel, Karki said.
    His body was sent to Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, this morning.
