• 2,700 American Airlines flights cancelled, Boeing 737 Max grounded

    Due to the grounding of the Boeing 737 Max after two fatal crashes in October, American Airlines on Sunday announced the extension of flight cancellation through April 24 along with the reduction in additional flights.
    The airlines stated that it is cancelling about 90 flights a day which is the second-largest U.S. operator of the MAX in the United States having 24 jets while Southwest Airlines has 34.
    About 85 flights a day were operative out of its 6,700 daily departures on the 737 MAX planes by the American Airlines earlier this month when the grounding was announced.
