    A mammoth 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Papua New Guinea's New Britain island on Thursday, triggering a tsunami warning.
    The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said hazardous tsunami waves were forecast for some coasts.
    Tsunami waves were forecast to be less than 0.3 metres high for the coasts of PNG and Solomon Islands, it said, adding that wave amplitudes could vary between regions.
