    The central government will cautiously evaluate proposals by the Taipei City Government to develop its visa waiver and fall and winter domestic tourism subsidy programs to ASEAN member states and Middle Eastern nations following a ban on tourism by China, Premier Su Tseng-chang explained yesterday.
    Tseng made the remarks in a reaction to proposals made by Taipei Deputy Mayor Teng Chia-chi at a Cabinet meeting, highlighting the possible effect from the banning of Beijing regarding individual traveling to Taiwan.
