    This year has turned out to be quite strong for the tourism industry, which has registered uninterrupted growth in international trips globally. In the first eight months of 2018, international outbound trips grew by six per cent worldwide, with Asia and South America recording the highest increases. According to the findings by IPK International, the outlook for 2019 remains positive as well.

    The attraction of urban centers lost none of its appeal in 2018, with tourists expected to embark on around 1.4 billion trips to various cities around the world this year.
    UK-based market research company Euromonitor International has released its Top 100 City Destinations 2018 report of late, which is an annual ranking of the world's most popular cities by international tourism arrivals.
    Once again, Hong Kong has bagged the top spot. Close to 30 million tourists are expected to travel to the region before the year end and more than 50% of them will come from the Chinese mainland.

    International tourism expected to continue its upward trend next year

    International tourism is expected to continue its upward trend next year as well boosted by a 6 percent rise in international outbound trips in the first eight months of 2018, with Asia and South America expected to report the highest outbound growth and tour holidays making a comeback.
