    Tourism in India is growing in spite of a decline in all other sectors of the economy.
    By 2028, the travel and tourism sector is expected to contribute around Rs. 32.05 trillion to the gross domestic product. This is almost double that was recorded in 2017, when the contribution was Rs. 15.24 trillion.
    By 2020, the government has also set a target of 20 million foreign tourist arrivals and twice the foreign exchange reserves.
