    The inquiry into the environmental cost of tourism and transport will take into consideration whether the UK government should play a greater role in balancing the waste and damage caused by scores of Britons who go on holiday overseas each year.

    The UK parliament's Environmental Audit Committee will launch an inquiry into the cost of tourism to the environment.
    The announcement spoke about various effects of overtourism, including carbon emissions, resource degradation, the decline of cultural sites, and negative impacts on the housing market.
